At Badger Hill Primary School we have high aspirations and ambitions for all of our children and we believe that no child should be left behind. We are committed to removing any barriers for our disadvantaged children so they are able to meet their full potential in line with our school vision of, ‘Together we will grow’. We are fully committed to providing our children with the ability to access our broad and challenging curriculum.  

The Spending of Pupil Premium at Badger Hill Primary School

The Pupil Premium is a sum of money that is allocated to schools to ensure that all children have an equal chance to succeed in schools. An amount is allocated for children eligible for free school meals, who are from service families and those that are in Local Authority Care.

The free school meal children are either registered now or have been registered in the past 6 years for free school meals.

The current funding allocation is £1455 per pupil for free school meal pupils, £2530 for children in local authority care, and £335 per pupil for children from service families.

The more children registered for free school meals the more pupil premium…and the more funding available to ensure that these children make good progress.

Our strategy below will indicate the targeted and strategic use of our pupil premium grant and how it will support us in achieving our vision.

At the heart of our strategy are our four key priorities for school improvement:

1. Raise attainment and accelerate progress for all pupils
2. To develop skills and stamina in writing
3. Continue to develop high expectations in non-core subjects
4. Enhance curriculum experiences for all children

and impact of which will be assessed through criteria in the school development plan and at regular pupil progress reviews.
